Morning at Schoodic Point
An early morning drive to Schoodic Point—the quieter side of Acadia National Park—was well worth it. We biked along the scenic road and explored a few trails, taking in the beauty that surrounded us. Along the way, we were lucky enough to spot a deer with her two fawns and three seals playing offshore.
Stonington Lobster Boat Races
The roar of the engines, the countdown, and then they were off! It was an adrenaline-filled day at the Stonington Lobster Boat Races. These captains pushed their boats to the limit, racing across the harbor with incredible speed, focus, and skill. We grabbed lunch at our favorite local spot before finding a place along the waterfront to watch the action. From the powerful starts to the close finishes, every race brought excitement to the crowd. The event was a great celebration of Stonington’s fishing heritage, local community, and love for life on the water.
Adventure in Maine’s North Woods
Adventure called, and Maine delivered. We explored the North Woods through the 20-Mile Checkpoint, taking in rugged roads, peaceful forests, and a little fishing along the way. Then, finally, we saw a moose! 🫎 It took six years, but it was absolutely worth the wait. 😂 We continued along the route, enjoying every mile of Maine’s wild and unforgettable landscape.
Discovering Mt. Katahdin
Driving north, one of the most breathtaking sights along the way is Mt. Katahdin. This majestic mountain, located in Maine, stands as the highest peak in the state and is a true testament to the natural beauty of New England.
